Road Regrets

There are times that I want to get as far away from life as possible. I don't need a permanent escape, just some distance to get space and perspective. I love to drive. To me the open road is freedom so when I need a break I get in my car and just drive till my head feels clearer. This can take minutes or days. This song by Dan Mangan became part of my “life soundtrack” about a year ago when I first saw this music video. I loved the art and the message of the song. To me I hear it and I am reminded of the journey we take in life. The journey to “drive until the gas is gone”, “find Dodge and then get out of it”, learn that “escape is not the only way to escape,” know that “you're not living till you're living it and that we can get used to our road regrets.
